John Mannion is the Director of the ARC Hub. The ARC Hub for ICT lies at the intersection of business and academia, public and private. It requires a leader who understands the dynamics of the culture and requirements of both realms. John leads the day to day running of the ARC Hub for ICT and manages the core team and supports for researchers. Appointed in June 2025, he brings nearly two decades of public and private sector experience at the intersection of innovation, strategy, and health and public service transformation from his time in Accenture. Based in Accenture’s Global Innovation Centre, he led a global team based in five geographies in designing IP-based solutions, commercial models, and public service and health innovations in areas such policing, infrastructure, transport, sustainability, and digital government. He holds a Master’s in Public Policy from the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy at the National University of Singapore and from the Graduate School of Public Policy, The University of Tokyo, as well as a BA in History from Trinity College Dublin. From a start up perspective, his role will be akin to a CEO, and he will provide the entrepreneurial mindset, commercial acumen and ‘bias to action’ which is needed to ensure new businesses are a success.
