AIRIS addresses a critical challenge emerging from the implementation of the EU AI Act: enabling organisations to manage and report serious incidents involving high-risk AI systems in a structured, timely, and compliant manner. As Article 73 reporting obligations become enforceable from August 2026, providers and deployers of high-risk AI systems will face strict regulatory timelines while many organisations continue to rely on fragmented, manual processes that increase compliance costs and regulatory risk.
AIRIS is an infrastructure-grade RegTech platform that provides a dedicated execution layer for AI incident reporting. It connects enterprise compliance systems with regulatory authorities by transforming internal incident information into regulator-ready submissions through secure, interoperable integrations, without requiring replacement of existing systems. The platform supports organisations deploying and operating high-risk AI systems while also improving reporting quality and consistency for regulatory stakeholders.
During this funding period, AIRIS will deliver a TRL 6 prototype incorporating core capabilities including data ingestion, validation, regulatory requirement mapping, workflow orchestration, and automated report generation. The technology will be validated through controlled pilot deployments with early adopters, demonstrating measurable improvements in reporting speed, consistency, and compliance readiness.
By embedding regulatory logic, deadlines, and reporting workflows into a unified platform, AIRIS enables organisations to reduce compliance effort, improve governance of AI systems, and manage emerging regulatory obligations with greater confidence. The project establishes the foundation for scalable AI governance infrastructure across the European ecosystem.
