Dr. Giovanni Di Liberto, will coordinate the project and oversee all scientific and strategic aspects. Dr. Di Liberto has extensive experience in auditory neuroscience and computational modelling, which are central to the development of this technology. Technical development will be led by the team member Amirhossein Chalehchaleh, a postdoctoral researcher and first author of the scientific discovery underpinning this proposal. His deep understanding of the underlying mechanism makes him uniquely qualified to translate the research into a functional product. Both the PI (Di Liberto) and the postdoc (Chalehchaleh) will be trained in entrepreneurship as part of the programme, undertaking appropriate workshops and training to develop commercialisation skills, as well as learning about market analysis, business planning, and stakeholder engagement, under the expert mentorship of John Whelan (Trinity Innovation). This training will ensure that the technology is positioned for successful adoption and investment. We have also already started a conversation with the ADAPT Centre (where Dr. Di Liberto is a Funded Investigator) regarding the identification of an ideal training strategy for this entrepreneurial training. The ADAPT Centre is routinely involved in commercialisation projects, with dedicated personnel and in-depth expertise on the matter. We are confident that their expertise and network will be a valuable complement to John Whelan’s mentorship, augmenting the skills and network developed by the PI and postdoc.
