TR: Hirbod is a risk management academic and practitioner with over a decade of experience linking mathematical/statistical modelling, insurance and particularly commodities. Since 2013 he has been a university academic in the UK and Ireland, publishing more than 40 papers and book chapters. He holds dual PhDs in Financial Mathematics and Financial Economics (University of Montreal, Concordia University, respectively). He serves on the advisory board of Agriculture Finance Review and is editor of the Springer volume Quantitative Risk Management in Agricultural Business (2025), the first book devoted entirely to this field [Book]. His research in the past was funded by the Society of Actuaries and the Canadian Derivatives Institute, has produced a UK REF impact case [Impact case], evidencing concrete influence on insurance and agrifood practice.
