Tendai Mukande holds a PhD in Machine Learning and brings more than a decade of experience spanning electronics, photonics, and applied AI. He co-developed the Taishan/Euler OS ICT servers at Huawei Technologies, which have been deployed in more than seventy countries worldwide. Tendai’s combined hardware and software expertise, including semiconductor architecture and research in efficient AI models, positions him well to translate the proposed research into commercially deployable solutions. He also has a strong understanding of how technical innovations intersect with regulatory requirements and emerging market opportunities. The academic mentor, Noel O’Connor is a Professor of Electronic Engineering at DCU, and CEO of the Insight Research Ireland Centre for Data Analytics. He has filed seven patents and led the formation of three successful spinout companies to date. Noel brings extensive experience in guiding researchers through research, commercialisation and industry partnership. His leadership in collaborative research projects and established international network across academia, industry enterprise and policy sectors would be invaluable, ensuring that the proposed translational project remains aligned with national research priorities and global market trends.
