Dr. Vicent Briva-Iglesias is an academic entrepreneur with almost a decade of research and industry experience in machine translation (MT), localisation and AI-powered language technologies. He holds a PhD in MT and Human-Computer Interaction from DCU and is currently Assistant Professor in Translation Technology at DCU, where he chairs the MSc in Translation Technology and the MA in Translation Studies (both in the EU’s prestigious EMT network). He is also Adjunct Professor on AI Language Technologies at McGill University (Canada) and Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (Spain), and collaborates as an external AI consultant with the Barcelona Supercomputing Center, one of the EU’s AI factories. He is a member of ADAPT, the Research Ireland Centre for AI-Driven Content Technology.
