MOCARA is an intelligent conversational communication platform designed to improve how patients understand their health conditions and treatments. It delivers personalised, multilingual explanations in clear, accessible language, adapting to each user's literacy level, preferred language, and communication needs. Unlike static patient information leaflets, videos, or general-purpose AI chatbots, MOCARA provides interactive education based exclusively on regulator-approved pharmaceutical content, including FDA- and CE-approved Patient Information Leaflets, ensuring accuracy, regulatory compliance, and full auditability.
For pharmaceutical companies, MOCARA strengthens Patient Support Programmes (PSPs) by improving patient onboarding, supporting treatment adherence, and providing anonymised insights into common patient information needs. Its modular architecture enables rapid deployment across multiple therapeutic areas and international markets, creating a scalable digital health platform.
This ARC TRP project (October 2026–September 2027; €148,471.47) will advance MOCARA from a validated web-based prototype to fully functional Android and iOS applications ready for Commercial Beta Trial (CBT). Alongside technical development, the project will prioritise customer discovery, pricing validation, and commercial engagement to secure a pilot customer agreement and demonstrate market readiness. By project completion, MOCARA will deliver a CBT-ready mobile platform with ethics approval, a signed pilot customer contract, a validated pricing model, and the commercial foundation for a University of Galway spin-out, MOCARA Health Ltd.
