About the project
Sign2me is an AI-powered mobile application that translates Sign Language into English in real time, addressing a major gap in assistive communication tools for the Deaf community.
Despite growing research in sign language technology, there is currently no practical, automated solution that supports live interpretation in daily interactions. Sign2me combined cutting-edge AI and user-centered design to create the first real-time, mobile-based interpreting app for native signers. The app runs on smartphones and tablets, adapting to the user’s fluency and dialect, and enables seamless communication in healthcare, legal, educational, and everyday social contexts.
The key objectives of Sign2me are:
1.Developing an AI-powered mobile application that translated Sign Language into English in real time, supporting live interpretation for native signers.
2. Improved recognition accuracy, adapting to fluency, dialect, and contextual use.
3. Ensuring usability, inclusivity, and alignment with real-world communication across healthcare, education, legal, and social contexts.
