Dr Felipe Quiroz is a Lecturer and Principal Investigator at the University of Galway, and Director of the MSc in AgriFood Sustainability and Technology. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering in Molecular Biotechnology and a PhD in Molecular Biotechnology from the University of Chile. His experience spans plant biotechnology, agrifood innovation, and applied R&D, combining scientific research with a strong focus on practical application, stakeholder engagement, and end-user value. A key strength of Dr Quiroz is his direct experience in research commercialisation. He led the FONDEF VIU14E049 project, a competitive programme focused on the valorisation of university research into market-oriented solutions, and received the University of Chile’s Patenting Incentive and Technology Transfer award
