I am an Assistant Professor in the School of Computer Science and Statistics at Trinity College Dublin, with 25+ years of research experience in cryptography, network security, and distributed systems. My work spans blockchains, applied cryptography, privacy-preserving protocols, identity management, zero-knowledge protocols etc. with multiple publications in international security conferences and journals. I bring deep technical expertise in the cryptographic architecture that underpins InvizCrypt - including the authentication and encryption mechanisms employed in the platform. I have previously been engaged in commercialisation activity in relation to the CipherApps project which was funded by Enterprise Ireland under their Comm Fund scheme for €300K. I also spent 12 months in a Telefonica sponsored incubator called Wayra who provided an additional €40K in funding for the project. We recently also launched a privacy preserving electronic voting platform called zkBallot (www.zkballot.com) which makes use of zero-knowledge proofs and the Zcash blockchain to hide the identity of voters and at the same time allows for a transparent audit of the election. I am also the Director of the Digital Security and Societal Resilience Research Centre (www.tcd.ie/digital-security-resilience/) at Trinity College Dublin.
