Dr. Kariem Fahmi (Lead Translational Researcher) is a Principal Researcher at Tyndall National Institute with an exceptional track record in multi-path connectivity solutions. For 3.5 years, Dr. Fahmi has led the software development and commercialisation of HyperPath, a Tyndall spin-out delivering reliable connectivity for BVLOS drones, teleoperated vehicles, and connected medical wearables—currently under trial with a major automotive manufacturer. During his Nokia Bell Labs-sponsored PhD at Trinity College Dublin, Dr. Fahmi developed Mx BOOST, now deployed as the core differentiator of Nokia's industrial connectivity products. This work earned him Nokia's Certificate of Outstanding Contribution and seven patents. His entrepreneurial credentials include founding Bonocle—an assistive technology startup that received $350,000 in grants and won the 2022 World Summit Award. Dr. Fahmi's technical depth in multi-path protocols and commercialisation experience makes him ideally positioned to lead PRISM.
