Dr. Kevin McDaid is a Lecturer in Computing at Dundalk Institute of Technology (DkIT), where he leads the Data Analytics activity within the Regulated Software Research Centre. He holds a PhD in Mathematical Statistics and has over 50 peer-reviewed publications across various computing and machine learning domains. With deep expertise in sports technology,Dr. Kevin has significant industrial and commercialisation experience, having served as Chief Science Officer at Statsports, where he led the development of performance analysis algorithms used by elite sports teams including Manchester City. Building on this, Dr.Kevin co-founded PlayerTek—a GPS/MEMS-based wearable technology company targeting sub-elite and individual players—which was successfully acquired by Catapult Sports in Australia.
