I am a Postdoctoral Researcher in NLP at the University of Galway’s Data Science Institute, with over a decade of experience developing AI-driven text analytics solutions across healthcare, public communication, and large-scale data environments. My career reflects a consistent trajectory of advancing cutting-edge NLP research and translating it into impactful real-world applications. These dual competencies underpin my ambitions in research commercialisation and directly motivate my application to the ICT ARC Hub programme.
My qualifications and track record position me strongly to advance the commercial maturation of the foundational technology I have been developing over the past several years, LUCE, and to drive its evolution into a robust AI-powered Complaint Analysis Platform for Healthcare. I hold a PhD in Science and Engineering focused on opinion analytics, alongside nearly five years of postdoctoral experience leading independent research, supervising students, and contributing to major funded projects. I have developed, deployed, and validated large-scale NLP pipelines across EU and national initiatives such as PANDEM-2, PaCSI, PlatformUrbanism, and a multimodal clinical decision-support research project. My experience in data acquisition, corpus construction, model development, evaluation, explainable analytics, and Docker-based deployment provides essential grounding for transitioning academic prototypes into commercially ready systems.
