Dr Robert Ross is the Pillar Lead for Education & Online Communication. Dr Robert is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Computer Science at TU Dublin and co-director of the Applied Intelligence Research Centre.With over 20 years of experience in communications research, Dr Ross brings deep expertise in human–machine interaction, dialogue systems, and digital engagement. He leads the Cognitive Systems Research Group and is the TU Dublin lead at the SFI ADAPT Research Centre, where he heads Industry Engagement for the Digitally Enhanced Engagement theme and contributes to cross-centre research on Controllable AI. He has also led applied analytics work at CeADAR and has managed five Enterprise Ireland Innovation Partnership Programmes, as well as a current Commercialisation Fund project focused on bringing research to market.
