Prof. Cathal Gurrin is Professor at the School of Computing at DCU and Director of the ADAPT Centre at DCU. A globally recognised expert in lifelogging and quantified self technologies, he ranks among the top 5 researchers in this space (QS/Google Scholar). Prof. Gurrin has successfully translated his research into impact, securing five international patents with Samsung Inc. and commercialising technologies through two DCU start-ups. He is founder of the ACM Lifelog Search Challenge and has worked globally with public health organisations on assistive lifelogging technologies. A graduate of the NSF I-Corps programme, Prof. Gurrin has a proven record of combining technical innovation with commercial vision, particularly in wearable sensing and digital health.
